This project was a collaboration with AsymmetricA, based on a previous project they made in Dubai Creek. Our class was given the opportunity to reinterpret and bring new life to the scene, using the original 3D base model provided by AsymmetricA.
The process began with exploring compelling camera angles, followed by feedback sessions with the AsymmetricA team. I researched Dubai’s environment and architecture to select fitting assets and define the desired mood. Once I had a clear vision, I worked on materials, lighting, vegetation, props, and finally, population.
The scale of the scene was larger than I had previously worked with, which taught me how to optimize workflow by using scattering techniques and compositing groups of people in Photoshop. I also explored AI tools, such as Krea, to generate the people in the foreground of the sunset image.
