This was a group project where we were divided into teams of three or four and assigned a location in which to design a hotel. Each team member was responsible for creating one area of the hotel - the lobby, restaurant, or spa. My group was assigned Mostar, Bosnia, and I chose to design the restaurant for our hotel, which we named Hotel Mostarica, meaning "The Lady of Mostar".
Before starting the design, we did extensive research on Mostar’s culture, nature, religion, and architecture. Our goal was to create a concept that blends tradition with modern design. Mostar’s diverse cultural influences made the research both inspiring and educational. We incorporated local materials, furniture, and vegetation to reflect the region’s character.
To maintain a cohesive look throughout the hotel, we used shared elements such as arches, materials, and furnishings across all spaces. This project also taught me valuable lessons in teamwork, finding effective ways to align design visions and work together smoothly.
